about

"Give Me Jesus" is a traditional Spiritual that captures this theme of the beauty of weakness through its lyrics. This instrumental version reflects the response of the person who considers Christ in all his fullness - his life, his death, his resurrection, his hope - and submits completely to a life centered on his liberation from sin and death. Through his weakness, he is found victorious. The giving of my life to his cause and to be all in is the only fitting response.

lyrics

In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise, give me Jesus

Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus,
You can have all this world,
But give me Jesus

When I am alone
When I am alone
When I am alone, give me Jesus

Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus,
You can have all this world,
But give me Jesus

When I come to die
When I come to die
When I come to die, give me Jesus
