I’m holding still, I am not moving the way I should be, And I am afraid For I am not sure if it’s You or it is me, And I cannot see with my eyes, And I cannot feel it inside, And so I begin to wonder why. But it’s Your Love that reaches me, And it’s Your Word that changes me, It’s Your Grace that’s holding me, And helps me understand, It’s Your Light that makes me see, There is more You want of me, And that Your Hand is molding me, Into the child I am. I have been wrong, I’ve been so mistaken by what I thought was true, I opened my eyes, To find that the answers are fading from view, And I don’t know just what to do, For all that I thought that I knew, Gets lost in the light of You. And though I can’t see with my eyes, And I cannot feel it inside, I know that You’re changing my mind. But it’s Your Love that reaches me, And it’s Your Word that changes me, It’s Your Grace that’s holding me, And helps me understand, It’s Your Light that makes me see, There is more You want of me, And that Your Hand is molding me, Into the child I am.

If you could see what I see, And if you knew what I do, Then you would know why I’ve tried to show I, Am so in love with you. If you could feel my heart beat, You’d feel it beat for you, For you mean more than you’ll ever know and, I want to be with you. For you are beautiful to me, You’re so beautiful to me, And when I look into your eyes, Is when I come to realize, That I would give my very life, If you could see You are so beautiful to me. If you could feel my heart break, You’d feel it break for you, For you were lost and it took a cross and, Nothing else would do. And if it takes my last breath, I’d breathe it just for you, For my love is higher and my arms are wider, And I hung it all there for you. For you are beautiful to me, You’re so beautiful to me, And when I look into your eyes, Is when I come to realize, That I would give my very life, If you could see, if you could see that... You are beautiful to me, You’re so beautiful to me, And when I look into your eyes, Is when I come to realize, That I would give my very life, If you could see you are so beautiful to me.

I look outside my window and wonder, If hidden in this heart is something more, And I question in my soul, Just what on earth I was created for. For there cannot be a song without a writer, And love’s known only when a lover loves, And the stars that paint the sky, Call me to look silently above. Creator of my heart, I know The life I live is not my own, Everything I have, All I am and more, Was crafted by your hands, It's what I'm created for, Come and make me whole, Creator of my soul. Yet who am I that you would even ponder? And who am I that you would even care? For to the beauty of this earth, And the glory of the skies I can’t compare. But I have been created for a purpose, I'm more than just an actor in a play, For the One who calls my name, is the One who has created me to praise.

I have walked in sin’s dark shadow, I’ve been tempted by its sway; I’ve been held by all its treasure and have wandered far away. But Your light grows ever brighter, leading onward to that shore, Where my heart, so dark and lonely, seeks a refuge from the storm. I have tasted of life’s freedom, Found it bitter in the end; Left the verdant bonds of heaven for the valleys of my sin. Still Your mercy calls me homeward from this distant, desert land, Where my soul, made dry and thirsty, finds salvation in Your hand. So I stand as one forgiven in this land where darkness fades; Where Your love restores the broken by Your mercy and Your grace. Sin and death have been defeated, You have conquered by Your blood; And this story stands completed, In Your never-failing love.

I woke up today, the clouds were dark and grey, I was saddened by it all. Climbed back into bed, pulled the covers over my head As the rain began to fall. You see, rain and me we just don’t agree, I’d rather there be none to fall. I would be fine if the sun would always shine And it never rained at all. There’d be no hard times without the sunshine, There’d be no thunderstorms at all. I would be fine if the sun would always shine, But into every life a little rain must fall. Now, someone said to me, “Without the rain, you see, There’d be no harvest in the Fall. There’d be no winter wheat, no beans to eat, If it never rained at all.” So let rain, let pour, then let it come down some more, I'll be fine through it all, I’ll be alright without a little sunlight Cuz into every life a little rain must fall. There will be hard times without the sunshine, Let the thunderstorms brawl. I’ll be just fine without a little sunshine, For into every life a little rain must fall. Into every life a little rain must fall. Into every life a little rain must fall.

about

This song cycle represents a journey – both musical and spiritual – that travels a route over many different terrains and many years. Imagine it, if you will, as a photo album of the snapshots captured along the way. These songs are markers and remembrances of moments in this artist's process of becoming. And at the center of that is Christ Jesus, who takes the broken and makes it beautiful.

A piano-playing, singer/songwriter from Kansas City, Randy Bonifield invites his listening audience to a bench-side seat with his down-to-earth, hold-nothing-back approach. When all is said and done, Randy’s aim is to focus the listener on the story and the context around us of truth and beauty - all that is good, true, noble, admirable, desirable - gifts given to make us more aware of what it truly means to be more human, more alive, more connected to what ought to be.
